Frequently called the Queen City, Manchester is the largest city in New Hampshire and northern New England. Its nickname comes from the fact that it is larger than the state capital, Concord.

Manchester is, along with Nashua, one of two seats of New Hampshire's most populous county, Hillsborough County and straddles the banks of the Merrimack River.
